Dr. Mary Ann Joseph now Dean of the School of Management

We are delighted to announce that Dr. Mary Ann Joseph has been appointed to serve as the Dean of the School of Management.

Dr. Joseph began her tenure at the College in 1988 as Associate Professor, as part of a key group of faculty members hired to develop and implement the College’s Master of Management program. She was promoted to full Professor in 1993. She has served in a number of academic and administrative roles at the College, including Chair of the Faculty Council, Director of Graduate Programs in Management, and Co-Chair of the College Senate. Since 2008, Dr. Joseph has served as the Acting Dean of the School of Management.  Over the years she has demonstrated a strong commitment to the College and to the academic and customer support needs of its students.

Dr. Joseph’s areas of expertise include marketing and international management and her interests include the impact of globalization on management and managers, and the application of business practices for socially relevant causes.  She started her career in brand management and marketing before moving into academia. She has a master’s degree in business administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, India and earned her doctorate in marketing from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She has taught previously at the University of Massachusetts/Boston, and has been a visiting faculty member at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, India and Universidade Atlântica in Lisbon, Portugal. She is a member of the American Marketing Association, the Academy of Management and the Association of University Professionals in Healthcare Management.
